Amò is an engaged-activities collective created by Ana Lira, Marta Supernova, Marina Alves, Thais Rocha and Thais Rosa with the aim of developing projects on Afro-descendance from the Brazilian perspective. Their activities include listening exercises, sensory experiences and creating ways to circulate collective knowledge.

In this essay, Amò Colectivo reflect on the ‘Public Politics’ project they developed with the inhabitants of the Little Africa neighbourhood in Rio de Janeiro, engaging with questions of how community knowledge is organised and understood as art.
