Sofia Lemos is a curator and writer. She is curator at TBA21 | Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary. Between 2018-21, she was curator of public programmes and research at Nottingham Contemporary and associate editor at The Contemporary Journal, where she edited the Sonic Continuum and co-edited the Critical Pedagogies strand. She is currently editing a book, Sonic Continuum: On the Sound and Poetics of Time, which is forthcoming with Archive Books/Nottingham Contemporary.
In this introduction, Sonic Continuum editor and curator Sofia Lemos introduces the themes of strand and imagines how disjointing acts of listening from the ear and its particular arrangement of time might restitute failures to listen.
Architectures of Education is a collaboration between Nottingham Contemporary, Kingston University, and e-flux Architecture, and a cross-publication with The Contemporary Journal.
